Here are ideas to solve common problems with printer hardware.
1. Check the power connection; ensure that the power switch is turned on. If you're printing to a shared printer (printer on the network), ensure that all necessary computers and routers are turned on as well.
For wired printers, check the cables. Ensure that the printer cable is properly connected from the printer to your PC. For wireless printers, check the wireless connection. Ensure that the printer’s wireless option is turned on. Run the printer’s wireless connectivity test to test the connection. Read the printer’s manual that came with the printer to find out how.
2. Ensure that all printer drivers are installed and up-to-date.
